This Friday night, January 13th, Staten Island’s favorite sons, The Seconds, will be performing their first live set of 2017 at The Hop Shoppe.

Back in November, LFS (Looking for Spots) and Staten Island’s own 5050 Skatepark threw a street jam consisting of the LFS crew using Stapleton as their playground and pulling off some impressive tricks.

It’s only been several days since the passing of singer George Michael, but Staten Island’s own PS 22 Chorus has already paid special tribute to the late singer.

Local Staten Island personality Dean Holtermann has been recording and writing his own music since before many of you reading this were born.

This Saturday, December 10th, the SI Makerspace collective are throwing their annual Makerspace maker Market. The event promotes the idea of local people creating local goods and art. The Makerspace has built a reputation in the last few years as Staten Island’s premiere destination for allowing those that want to get their hands dirty and create to do just that.

Today, Saturday December 3rd, marks the 2016 Minthorne Street Winter Festival. The event where live music, food, art, and games collide into a delightful afternoon of activity and holiday shopping for the entire Staten Island community.

This past month, Staten Island’s own Nani Castle and Producer Udachi teamed up for a hot new track called ‘Crying in the Dark.’

For the past year or so, local comics Manny Rondon and Joon Chung have been producing a monthly (sometimes bi-monthly) comedy showcase from the SI Arts Culture Lounge in the SI Ferry Terminal.

Created by local artist Scott LoBaido in partnership with the Department of Sanitation, the TrashNet is essentially a net on the top of select public trashcans that is meant to catch garbage thrown at it from cars.
