Ettore grew up working in the restaurant & catering business from the age of 12. He graduated from the College of Staten Island with a Bachelors's in Mathematics & Finance in 1985. In 1986 he started Chez Vous caterers from the basement of his home in Dongan Hills and caters parties at homes and businesses in the tri-state area. In Oct 1987 he rented the first floor of Edgewater Hall at 691 Bay Street. A few years later he added the party rental division to Chez Vous. In 1998 he purchased Edgewater Hall and renovated the first and second floors making them party spaces. Shortly thereafter he purchased from his tenant the cellar bar creating Dock Street Underground a live music venue. His creative projects include his CD Sweet on You, his book, It’s Your Right to be Fit, Sexed, and Happy, So Claim It, and he is developing a TV series called Business Underground. His record labels Hanz On Music and Dock Street Records has produced Method Man's "The Meth Lab." and produces 2nd Generation Wu projects.

We all know that Staten Island is a great place to grow up. While those from Brooklyn and Manhattan might disagree, there’s plenty of people from plenty walks of life breathing life into Staten Island’s cultural scene.

Chez Vous Caterers told This Way on Bay exclusively that they will be releasing a wedding photoshoot that they conducted with local Staten Island businesses. They teamed up with four different Staten Island based bridal shops as well as two different event venues, including the Historic Edgewater Hall, in order to capture about fifteen different bridal looks for the upcoming 2016 Wedding Season.

The North Shore of Staten Island is known for its rich history & historic architecture. Three of the Event Spaces, The Great Hall in Snug Harbor, Alice Austen House & Edgewater Hall are located in historic buildings and three are set in urban settings, Overspray, 5050 Skatepark & Flagship Brewery.

The Bay Street Corridor & its surrounding neighborhood has enjoyed a rich history, from the Quarantine Grounds Buildings to the Railroad, Shipping & Terminal facilities to the historic neighborhoods & buildings, many which still stand today.

This Way on Bay designer, Rebecca, hails from Rockford Illinois where she grew up with members of Cheap Trick. Her favorite memories are Cheap Trick guitarist Rick Nielsen teaching her daughter Ashley guitar & their pot-luck dinners.

Beginning this weekend Saturday, July 18th, and running every weekend until Labor Day, The Staten Island Yankees presents Staten Island BeachFest 2015. This 8 weekend long festival will take place at FIVE Staten Island locations simultaneously with free events, giveaways, art shows, music, vendors, rides and more.

South Beach Restaurants continue to impress. Here is a look at some of the oldest and best restaurants on Staten Island. Italian cuisine & lots of seafood is served to perfection with an ocean breeze on & near the beach.

You might have heard that we’re hosting our third This Way on Bay this Thursday afternoon at Santander Bank in Stapleton. One of the highlights of that event will be the presence of four talented Staten Island artists who we’d like to introduce you to here.

North Shore business owners, Jazz Pennino owner of Mode Music, Vivian Vassar owner of Hey Viv & Ettore Mazzei owner of chez vous caterers have each been in business for 30 years & had a chance to celebrate their accomplishments at last month’s “This Way on Bay” mixer at the Art Cypher /Overspray Event Space.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November. Occasionally a storm develops early, and that could happen off the Southeast coast in the short term.
