Ettore grew up working in the restaurant & catering business from the age of 12. He graduated from the College of Staten Island with a Bachelors in Mathematics & Finance in 1985. In 1986 he started chez vous caterers from the basement of his home in Dongan Hills. In Oct 1987 he rented the first floor of Edgewater Hall at 691 Bay Street. A few years later he added the party rental division to chez vous. In 1997 he purchased Edgewater Hall and renovated the lofts on the second & third floor making them party spaces. Shortly thereafter he purchased from his tenant the cellar bar creating Dock Street Underground a live music venue. With real estate prices increasing in NYC, Ettore expanded to the Catskill Mountains and purchased Shandelee Lake Inn, a 1860 dutch barn and the first mansion built in Liberty NY and restored them. His creative projects include his CD Sweet on You, his book, It’s Your Right to be Fit, Sexed, and Happy, So Claim It, and he is developing a TV series called Business Underground. He is a partner in Hanz On Music, an R&B / Hip Hop record label. Their latest project method Man presents Hanz On, includes the single “Shining Star” which is available on iTunes. Their next project The Meth Lab is Method's Man next album. His publishing company, Relationship Ed Publishing has released, you jump i jump and will be releasing will be releasing Healthy Relationships 101:The Book

You might have heard that we’re hosting our third This Way on Bay this Thursday afternoon at Santander Bank in Stapleton. One of the highlights of that event will be the presence of four talented Staten Island artists who we’d like to introduce you to here.

North Shore business owners, Jazz Pennino owner of Mode Music, Vivian Vassar owner of Hey Viv & Ettore Mazzei owner of chez vous caterers have each been in business for 30 years & had a chance to celebrate their accomplishments at last month’s “This Way on Bay” mixer at the Art Cypher /Overspray Event Space.

The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June through November. Occasionally a storm develops early, and that could happen off the Southeast coast in the short term.

The North Shore of Staten Island has been home to great beers for over 150 years. Today you can find great beer at Abode Blues, The Craft House & Flagship Brewery.

The Cesar Sanchez Tribute Run will take place this Sunday May 10th, Mothers Day on Cesar’s 21st Birthday. Mother’s get a special gift for participating. It is a two mile run or walk starting at the FDR Boardwalk on Father Capdanno Blvd at Midland Avenue.

Kudos to all those involved in transforming the 2 mile stretch along Father Capodanno Blvd. The first noticeable thing was the cleanliness. There was not one piece of garbage along the entire length.

The “Core Four” are the former New York Yankees baseball players Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, Jorge Posada, and Mariano Rivera. It has also been coined by Staten Island Borough President James Oddo as the four major developments on the North Shore of Staten Island. URL Building, Empire Outlet Mall, New York Wheel & Lighthouse Point.

Staten Island Stained Glass | This Way on Bay

Stained Glass is a lost art. One of the few Stained Glass Artisans, William Butt, Staten Island Stained Glass is located right here on the North Shore.

New York City residents are now able to sign up for IDNYC, a government issued identification card that is available to all City residents age 14 and older in 25 languages. Immigration status does not matter. The largest municipal identification card program in the nation was launched in January of this year.

This Way on Bay’s neighborhood is known by three names each originally with its own distinction: The North Shore, Downtown Staten Island & the Bay Street Corridor.
