The Staten Island Ferry has played host to many film sets and impromptu viral videos over the years. So, it should come as no surprise that the ferry was once featured on an episode of I Love Lucy.
Back in November, LFS (Looking for Spots) and Staten Island’s own 5050 Skatepark threw a street jam consisting of the LFS crew using Stapleton as their playground and pulling off some impressive tricks.

Staten Island’s Casey Jost, Is J.J. Abrams in “Star Wars: The Force of Abrams,” a new video short by digital comedy network, Above Average. The clip, which has already been shared by Entertainment Weekly, pokes fun at Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ direcot Abrams’ tendency to rehash revitalize the work of other filmmakers.

Back in 2013, Staten Island filmmaker, Geoff Celis, ran a successful Indiegogo campaign for a short film he had been thinking about for quite some time. Shortly thereafter, Geoff rounded up some of Staten Island’s funniest minds and best movie-makers and put his lucha libre comedy into the world. Last week, an online version of the film was put into the world wide web.
Staten Island filmmaker, Kevin Rogers of Backslash Bomb productions, is having a free screening tonight for his short film “Blink: The observer” The event takes place at the 50/50 Skatepark at 9:30pm.
