It’s about to be an even better time to live on Staten Island. If only one thing is good about this Island, it’s the food. We’re about to get a whole lot of restaurants and eateries over the course of the next few years. Many of these restaurants will be featured in either the soon-to-be renovated Staten Island Mall or the upcoming Empire Outlets.
Staten Island’s own marine mammal research organization, Gotham Whale, is continuously collecting data on sightings of seals, dolphins, and whales that are returning to the waters around New York City. Each documented sighting is recorded in their database and collected into anecdotal reports, which they turn into real data that can be used to better understand where and when these animals are appearing.
Last week, The New York Wheel team welcomed the arrival of two (of four) of the wheel’s massive pedestals to Staten Island. Construction of the New York Wheel will reach a milestone with the arrival of two additional pedestals at the end of the week, marking the first full structural component featured on the construction site in St. George.
