This clip is about two months old at this point, but based on the view count I’m assuming that most of you haven’t seen it. Back in may, YouTube user Holly Bosshard posted this clip of a Humpback Whale breaching with a view of the Verrazano Bridge in the background.
The majestic creatures aren’t strangers to our island. In May, a Humpback was rescued from a commercial fishing net by Staten Islanders off the coast of Ocean County, NJ. In November of 2015, footage surfaced (lol puns) of a whale breaching off the coast of Mount Loretto in Raritan Bay.
