Thanksgiving is arguably one of the best holidays. It’s hard to compete with a day that’s solely dedicated to eating delicious seasonal food for hours on end. However, some of us like to kick off our celebrations a day earlier by partaking in Thanksgiving Eve festivities.
Thanksgiving Eve is one of the biggest party nights of the year. Many people return to their home towns and hit up local watering holes to hang with their old friends and drink like there’s no tomorrow. Plus, nursing a hangover on Thanksgiving is easy when you’re only responsibilities are to show up to a table and eat.

Phunky Elephant Thanksgiving Eve Party
The Phunky Elephant Gastropub is a great happy hour stop thanks to their excellent cocktail/food menu, live music performances, and their generous drink specials. For Thanksgiving Eve, however, the Gastropub is kicking it up a notch.
On Wednesday November 23rd, join The Phunky Elephant for an All Day Happy Hour. From 4 PM to closing, guests can enjoy half-priced bar food and drinks, including select bottled beer, signature cocktails, and martinis. There will also be live music performances starting at 9 PM.

A Yacht Rockin’ Thanksgiving Eve at Mother PuFlying W.A.S.P.S.g’s Saloon
Mother Pug’s Saloon really knows how to throw a rockin’ party, and Thanksgiving Eve is no exception. This year, a $10 cover charge will get you a free well drink and a front row seat to a performance from the Flying W.A.S.P.S., who will be performing the greatest hits from the 70s and 80s.

Tina’s Whiskey Tavern Thanksgiving Eve Party
Although Tina’s Whiskey Tavern is relatively new, it’s already proven to be a big hit with islanders since it opened back in August. The bar has an excellent whiskey selection, as the name suggests, and rewards its patrons with excellent drink specials and even free breakfast on Football Sundays.
Join Tina’s Whiskey Tavern on November 23rd for their first Thanksgiving Eve celebration. Starting at 9:30 PM, the bar will be offering free food and drink specials, as well as hosting a live DJ.

Jive Turkey: Thanksgiving Eve at Play Sports Bar
Play Sports Bar is a mecca for sports fans and beer lovers alike. The bar not only has an extensive and impressive beer selection, but they also offer excellent drink specials on game nights. The bar is also known for hosting some of the Island’s most talented musicians.
This year, cover band Cause and the Effects will be headlining Play’s annual Thanksgiving Eve party, aptly named Jive Turkey. Although they haven’t advertised which drink specials will be offered, the bar promises “NO TICKETS, NO LINES, NO INSANE COVER CHARGES!” and encourages their patrons to “stay local and avoid the hassle.”
