This Sunday, Staten Islanders are coming together at Flagship Brewery for a good cause. That cause? Raising money for little James Sanger’s medical expenses. The event which starts at 3pm, called Sangerpalooza, features beer from the brewery, food, Premium Raffles & 50/50s, and music from cover-rockers Screaming Broccolli.
Here’s the story from Erin Sarnes on GoFundMe:
Little James Sanger also known as Jamesy to those who love him most is not even 2 years old. In 22 shortlived months, James has had 6 surgeries.
Before James was born, his parents Joseph Sanger and Christina Sanger were told by doctors that their was something wrong with James. They knew that one of his kidneys was not fully functioning. They were told that once Christina delivered, James would immediately have to get operated on. Luckily when James arrived they held off a few weeks for his 1st operation. James was diagnosed with Hydronephrosis of the kidney which left it functioning at only 20% and deteriorates through time. Now of course we can live with this because we only need one right? After multiple surgeries pertaining to his kidney’s, James just wasn’t breathing right…. James was now diagnosed trachomalacia. Trachomalacia is a respiratory condition which was causing his trachea to collapse. James had his 6th surgery two weeks ago. It was undetermined wether it would even be succesful. Well thank god the surgery was very successful and to date the doctors are very happy with the outcome.
Recently Joe and Christina contacted Channel 7 news because Joe’s Medical Insurance DENIED them shots to assist with James’ condition. The shots cost $30,000. Thanks to 7 on your side contacting the insurance company – they were able to get them approved.
This is what the insurance HAS paid for. What the insurance company hasn’t paid for is MOUNDS of medical bills pertaining to James’ conditions. When this story aired a lot of people asked for an outlet to donate to James and his family.
Joe and Christina have been good friends of mine for many years and I know they would never ask for help from anyone… so I am asking for them.
I thank you in advance for any donation you can make!
God Bless <3
