The makeHERspace Radio Hour Takes The Digital Airwaves From SI’s MakerPark Radio

by | Nov 10, 2017 | Internet on Bay, Lifestyle, Print Edition Featured Articles, Uncategorized

Every Friday morning, from 10am to 11am, local tattoo artist Magie Serpica (Milk & Honey Tattoo Parlor) & Yoga Instructor Jen Gallo (KettleBella Fitness) host the ‘Make Her Space’ radio show out of the SI Makerspace hub where MakerPark Radio broadcasts from.

According to the MakerPark Radio site:

“In a time where female empowerment is both on the uprise but also very much in need, it is through the arts that a literal and metaphorical voice is created to engage the community. makeHERspace radio hour is an outlet to broadcast women from all walks of life such as artists, musicians, business owners, public figures, and more. Through interviews, stories, anecdotes, poetry, writing, and music, our goal is to showcase women and inspire and educate listeners.”

MakerPark Radio was established earlier this year as a freeform home for cultural and entertainment programs for the Staten Island community and beyond, while also being run by the community. These ladies have already shown, through their weekly showcasing of unique and diverse female artists, that if you somehow didn’t know that the island was brimming with talented and strong female artists, you certainly do now.

You can listen every Friday from 10am to 11am over at makerparkradio.nyc
