On July 21st, The Annual La Isla Bonita Festival 2018 will be arriving at Corporal Thompson Park in Downtown Staten Island with a mix of diverse musical artists and public art displays geared toward cultural diversity and spotlighting a wide range of cultures.
The event is completely free to attend and kicks off that afternoon with ‘Voices of A People’s History Workshop’ by Lemon Andersen and The Big Good Wolf performance from the CityParks PuppetMobile, as well as a public art display and Mariposas Amarillas by Lina Montoya of LMProject.
Then, at 5pm, Las Cafeteras, M.A.K.U. SoundSystem, and iBomba (DJ Ushka & DJ Beto) will guide audiences on a rhythmic journey ranging from beat music to future dancehall, while showing how music and dance has the ability to break down cultural borders.
So come down July 21st from 4pm to 7pm and be a part of what has quickly become a recent local tradition and celebration of Staten Island’s ever expanding cultural community.
Corporal Thompson Park is located at 136 Broadway, Staten Island, New York 10310
