As you’ve probably read, iconic musician, David Bowie, passed on two days ago. In remembrance of the artist who inspired millions, we thought we’d share some footage from a Staten Islander who was blessed to spend time with Bowie personally. Dean Holtermann, a filmmaker and musician in his own right, has a treasure trove of footage including the clips below of famed photographer, Mick Rock unveiling his “Exposed” book (which features a number of iconic Bowie images) and doing signings at his David Bowie exhibition in Toronto back in 2013.
“I was fortunate enough to experience a closeness to David Bowie through Mick Rock,” explained Holtermann. “[He’s] absolutely one of my favorite artists. I learned so much through David and Mick. I hate to see him go, but David, like Elvis, lives on forever.”
