Created by local artist Scott LoBaido in partnership with the Department of Sanitation, the TrashNet is essentially a net on the top of select public trashcans that is meant to catch garbage thrown at it from cars.

Scott Lobaido’s Latest Project Is A Memorial For Victims of Superstorm Sandy
Scott Lobaido is a Staten Island artist, most famous for his numerous American Flag murals. His latest project takes his work in an entirely different direction. Lobaido is currently working on “Empty Chairs”, a series of driftwood sculptures in the shape of chairs in tribute to all of those who lost their lives during Superstorm Sandy.
